Procurement Specialist

Requirements

- Possesses good communication – both verbal and written.

- Ability to work in a multi-cultural – global work environment with a mastery of at least the English and Japanese languages. Familiarity of other spoken languages in the Asia Pacific Region (e.g. Mandarin Chinese, Szechwan
Chinese, or Korean) will also be useful.

- Possesses a strong focus on delivery in a dynamic, challenging and fast moving work environment.

- Works in global environment with people from multiple work disciplines, cultures, in different time zones.

- Possesses strong organizational skills, ability to manage multiple interdependent activities, priorities, and resources.

- Assimilates business & process knowledge quickly and effectively.

Functional Skills & Experience

- Two-to-Four (2 -4) years of IT procurement experience in the Asia Pacific Region.

- Strong familiarity with the details required to evaluate and procure computer hardware, spare parts, peripherals, for PCs, Laptops, and Servers.

- Strong familiarity with the details required to evaluate and procure systems and application software based on global as well as local software requirements.

- Ability to work with Telecommunications service providers to contract and provision for other telecommunications and network related assets including Mobile Phones, Blackberries, Aircards, routers, and switches.

Technical Skills & Experience

- Experience working in SAP and/or other Asset Management related systems necessary to request and fulfill orders associated with procuring hardware, software, and telecommunications related asset requests.

- Familiarity with and experience working through Value Added Reseller’s web-based portals to identify technical details, pricing, availability, and estimated delivery times for required products and services.

- Experience in preparing documents, presentations, reports, financial worksheets, and diagrams effectively using office productivity tools (i.e. Microsoft Office, MS Project, MS Visio, etc…) – as required to support effective inter and intra company communications and reporting..

- Stores, manages, and controls versions of project documents and other artifacts in MS Livelink or other document management or record keeping systems.

- Experience working independently and from time-to-time remotely and utilizes collaboration tools like teleconference bridges, Instant Message and MS Net-Meeting to effectively manage the dynamic communications required to support procurement functions.
